Common Ground Edible Garden Tour

Edible Garden Tour opens up a world of innovative gardening, including: Mini-orchards, grey water catchment systems, gardening demos, a bounty of berry varieties, native plants, medicinal herbs, ancient grains, and–of course–lovely gardens teeming with veggies!

Why should you go on the Edible Garden Tour?

  • Rediscover the delights of small, local gardens in your community.
  • Soak up new water-saving, green-thumb gardening tips.
  • Connect and share ideas with other gardeners.
  • You can even meander parts of the tour by bicycle.
  • Support the Common Ground Garden, an awesome local organization that runs teaches kids at Terman, Gunn, and other schools about where their food comes from, trains adult gardeners and donates food each week to local food closets.

Explore new neighborhoods while you tour the gardens…including restaurants, cafes and more

For the first time the tour will include four local garden ‘hubs’: in Redwood City, East Palo Alto, San Jose, and of course Palo Alto. Gardens will be mainly located in these areas.

Each hub will feature at least one local community-oriented garden, and a map with a bike route for participants to use and see the gardens on the tour. We will also suggest local eateries to stop and have lunch, garden stores to stock up on seeds and plants, and cafes or pubs to end your tour and celebrate the awesome gardens visited.

To get tickets

You can purchase tickets to the Edible Garden Tour online here. $15 for adults, $5 for kids under $12 and $10 for students. Visit the Edible Garden Tour page to learn more.
