Free: Urban bicycling workshop in Palo Alto

Are you interested in using your bike to get around town but nervous about the traffic? Unsure about the best one to transport kids or groceries? Worried your bike will get stolen or get a flat tire? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, come to a workshop about an Urban Bicycling Workshop at Palo Alto Bicycles this summer, hosted by the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition.
The course is a one-hour presentation covering many of the basics: the rules of the road, route planning, and, especially for Bay Area Bike Share riders, Bike Share 101.
The course is followed by an optional 30 minute guided ride using the Bike Share bikes. No membership is necessary. The ride is limited to the first 10 attendees to sign-up at the workshop. Helmets will not be provided but you are encouraged to bring your own.
This class is funded in part by Bay Area Bike Share, however it is open to members and non-members alike! Taught by Winona Hubbard, a League of American Bicyclists Cycling Instructor. Please contact Ashley Hernandez at ashley@bikesiliconvalley.org with any questions.
