Come to a “mapathon” to help villages destroyed by war in the middle east get recognized by online mapping programs. This mapathon event is organized by Palo Alto teens in partnership with Rebuilding Alliance, an organization dedicated to rebuilding war-torn communities and bringing the world together to make them safe. The vision of Rebuilding Alliance is a just and enduring peace in Israel and Palestine founded upon equal rights, security and opportunity for all.
Participants only need to bring a laptop- all instruction will be provided on how to start mapping using OpenStreet editor. This event qualifies for community service hours for PAUSD. Sponsored by the City of Palo Alto’s Think Fund Program. Mediterranean-themed dinner will be provided.
This event is geared towards teens, but volunteers of all ages are welcome.
